KHPS - Letter from the Superintendent

KHPS - Letter from the Superintendent

Dear Friends,

During my 30 years in education, I have never seen a budget proposal from a governor that will so severely impact all public schools. I want to take this opportunity to provide you with how Governor Snyder’s budget will directly affect Kenowa Hills Public Schools.

Over the last three years, the Kenowa Hills Board of Education has made budget reductions of over $4 million, including closing three buildings and reducing staff by 27 teachers, 25 support staff and three administrators. Last year, our employees agreed to higher insurance co-pays, paying a portion of their insurance premiums, and pay freezes to help protect the integrity of our instructional programs.
