Trump rally draws supporters, protesters | News
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) - Outside of the DeltaPlex Monday night, it was quite the scene with protesters and supporters both voicing their positions.
"I came here because I don't promote hate," said one protester.
But there were many people who like Donald Trump and believe he would make a good President.
"I think it makes sense because he's a businessman and our economy is treated a lot like a business these days," said a Trump supporter.
Some people outside even saw the Trump visit as a business opportunity; they were selling hats, t-shirts, and buttons. After the speech, some said they didn't like some of the language used by the GOP front runner.
"There was kids in there and he would swear, I don't think our President should do that," said one man after the speech.
Others liked what he said about policy.
"When he was talking about our car industry, how we're importing so many things, I thought it was really interesting how he wanted to tax the cars coming into the industry, so we focus more on American made products," a woman said after the speech.
