Fred Meijer Standale Trail

Fred Meijer Standale Trail

I recently discovered the new Fred Meijer Standale Trail. It is a running/biking trail that goes from Wilson and 3 Mile taking you south to Millennium Park and eventually connects to Kent Trails. The section I have been running, between Remembrance and Lake Michigan Drive, has nicely paved paths, a few wooden bridges and plenty of backyard and wooded scenery. This is an excellent trail to walk, run, bike, or roller-blade.

Benefit for Caitlyn Bilkovsky

Benefit for Caitlyn Bilkovsky

Caitlyn was diagnosed with “Chiari Malformation” in November 2010. Chiari Malformation is when the tonsils of the cerebellum are too long and they grow into the spinal column, putting pressure on the spinal cord and block the flow of spinal fluid. It can also cause pockets of spinal fluid to form in the spinal column and if not treated can rupture and cause paralysis.

Caitlyn underwent surgery on December 13, 2010 and has had many complications since then leading to multiple hospitalizations. Her Mother has been her main caregiver with around the clock care and due to this, her Mother’s job has been terminated.

The benefit being held on Saturday, March 26, 2011, is to help with the family’s medical expenses of $50,000.00. The benefit will be held at Kuzzin’s Lounge from 5-9pm on Saturday, March 26, 2011.
