WALKER, Mich.---  Students at Walker Charter Academy are getting ready to break out the rolls of duct tape, to celebrate a fund-raising success.

The school raised $13,632.20 for the American Heart Association during its “Jump Rope for Heart” and “Hoops for Heart” events.  On Thursday, April 3, every student that raised at least $50 will get to duct tape the school’s principal and physical education teacher to the school’s basketball poles. Walker Charter Academy will also hand over a check to the American Heart Association for the fundraisers.

On average, Walker Charter Academy raises $10,000 for the American Heart Association during the events, making it one of the top 100 fundraising schools in the nation for these events.
