Share your ideas for things to do in your town over Spring Break

Share your ideas for things to do in your town over Spring Break

Most school districts in West Michigan are on Spring Break all next week.  A WZZM 13 Facebook poll revealed most folks are staying close to home during the time off from school.  We thought this would be a great opportunity for you to share things to do in My Town Communities all over West Michigan.  Post things to do in your town in the comment section under his article.

A message from Walker's 50th Anniversary Committee

A message from Walker's 50th Anniversary Committee

From: http://www.ci.walker.mi.us

One hundred and seventy five years ago, farmers settled in this part of West Michigan and created a Township called Walker, so named for a land agent named Charles I. Walker.

Time passed. The population grew and a business district was developing on Lake Michigan Drive (known as Standale) named for local business man, Howard Stanton.

On November 6, 1962 the Township voted for Walker to become a City and as they say…the rest is history. Fast forward to today, 2012, our City's 50th anniversary is upon us. We hope that you will join us in remembering our past and looking forward to Walker's next 50 years as a great place to live, work and raise a family.
