Watch commanders at the St. Louis County Jail say Jack Jacqmain, 52, was released into the custody of Michigan Department of Corrections officers Wednesday night.  They say Jacqmain was to be transported back to Michigan overnight.

Walker police say Jacqmain stabbed Mark Moore, 31, to death at the Motel 6 at 3 Mile Rd. & Alpine Ave. NW, on August 18.  Witnesses told WZZM 13 News they saw Jacqmain kill Moore, then go to his own room, pull out a backpack, and calmly walk away.

Walker Police, Michigan State Police troopers, and the U.S. Marshals Service searched for Jacqmain in West Michigan for days after the murder.

WZZM 13 employees have fun smashing old company fax machine.

Grand Rapids (WZZM) --  WZZM 13 employees took a break Tuesday for a bit of a stress reliever to demolish a faulty fax machine.

The machine, which was used by community members to fax information to the WZZM Information Center, was constantly on the fritz, with too many press releases going unretrieved.

Once a new one was bought to replace it, WZZM staff raised money for a company luncheon buy paying a dollar to smash the fax machine to smithereens.

CPR saves unsupervised child at apartment pool

WALKER, Mich. (WZZM) - It's why the apartment complex says they require adult supervision for all swimmers under the age of 16.

Monday afternoon a 9-year-old girl left unattended at the Old Orchard Apartments pool in Walker nearly drowned.

"She was lifeless," says Anne Williams, who helped pull the child from the pool. "She was limp. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head. There was no movement."

The child might have died if not for Anne Williams, who saw the girl underwater, and army veteran Chad Petty, who was at the pool with his son and has training in battlefield first aid.

"She wasn't breathing so I pulled her out of the pool and situated her on her back," says Petty.

"He was familiar with what to do in that situation so he right away started CPR," says Williams.

Murder suspect will likely be extradited to Michigan this week

(WZZM)- Monday a Missouri judge approved the extradition of a man wanted for murder at a Walker motel.  Jack Jacqmain, 52, is the suspect in the August 18th stabbing death of a another guest at the Motel 6 on 3 Mile Road NW at Alpine Avenue.

A police officer arrested Jacqmain for sleeping on a bench behind a Saint Louis area 7 Eleven store.  When the officer ran Jacqmain's fingerprints he discovered the vagrant was a parole absconder from Michigan wanted for murder.

Walker Police expect Jacqmain to be returned to Michigan this week.
